Silent Movie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaZmnPCdnYA

Our silent movie turned out to be good. The acting was great by all of my peers. We all had a lot of fun doing it. We were productive as a group and finished before our classes deadline. The project was good and the plot of the movie was a old lady who really didn't get hit by a car but made a big fuss and ended up getting the alleged driver arrested at the end the old lady turned out to be the crook beciass she stole the mans wallet that the police officer threw on the ground while arresting the man.

We ran into some complications with filming. Our first camera's battery couldn't last the whole period! This rushed the filming of some of our scenes to the point where if we had a better camera we could of executed them better. The rest of the movie was filmed on an iPhone. This was one problem we overcame as a group!

The filming turned out to be okay. The one scene that was supposed to show the old lady getting hit by the car was filmed poorly. It shows my character pushing the car which was not supposed to happen. The scene didn't show the significance of the car not hitting the old lady. It can be hard to interpret if you don't know the plot ahead of time. We could of resolved this by going with the original idea of having a zoomed out camera angle and having both the driver and the old lady in view of the camera at the same time. This would of stressed the plot and I wouldn't be in the scene if we filmed it like this because I would have pushed the car to a speed where I wouldn't have been behind the car slowly wheeling him to the intersection. Staging was also not great. We can see a piano and many pieces of furniture in the scene. This was supposed to be a open highway. But all and all my group did great.

At the end of the day I am proud of my group for overcoming many obstacles such as lack of props and ended up  putting together a solid film. We will work harder and harder until we can achieve what we want in acting class.

Blog 4

Our movement project last week turned out to be very good. Victoria is a very skilled actress and I enjoy working with her.  Our two roles were as  two little kids playing in the park  after arranging a play date.  In the beginning of the play her character was looking for mine and couldn't find him.  I then come out and we play hide and seek and at the end of the play my parents come to pick me up I wave good bye and that is how the play ends.  Our silent movie progress in class has been OK. Today  was a morning  class and no one was into it. Other classes some people are more involved than others, but we all did input our ideas on how we want to run this silent movie. Today was also tough becuase we don't have a clear cut director like last year who ran the movie scenes.  But in  class we came up with a good setting, plot and conflict.  Or silent movie is going to be about two crazy girl fans standing in line for hours before finally getting an opportunity to meet their favorite actor. But just as they get in the front of the line the famous actor decides to take a break from signing  autographs.  I will play the bodyguard that are standing in front of the actor while he is on his phone paying no attention to the only two fans that are left that want autographs. It'll be funny because it's highly unlikely he and the two girls will decide to overthrow the bodyguard and chase the famous actor around until they get their autograph in their way with him.

It is sometimes difficult to be on the same page as my peers.  You'll have different ideas that we think are good. We try to incorporate all that but that's not how show business works.  Music gave us a little issues today we all found pieces that we think can work. It'll be tough to decide on one piece so we may need to incorporate more than one piece of music into our final project. The movers will be over exaggerated to emphasize the pot and conflict. Since we can't use your words we have to use our bodies to act. The  movements will show frustration, anger and happiness for the girls at the end and sorrow for the actor. The body guard will be unconscious.  I think this piece can  be really good if we all do our jobs and click together as one.

Monologue Mauled

https://youtu.be/zU_LeRuYF2k

My monologue project turned out to be very good. I used a good acting voice that projected and used good body movement to incorporate with the general mood of the scene. The ending could have been a bit stronger, and once my scene was over I had thought that could of took my monologue to the next level. I thought of having the camera filming my acting monologue could have been a  paparazzi member filming me in a first person film which would have given it a more realistic view. There were some times were I stumbled in the first take but I cleared that up in the second take although I did have one line rearrangement at the very end. I could have prepared my fellow classmate better for him to understand the scene a little bit better. But he preformed well for the task at hand. I could of had more emphasis in some scenes but for the most part it was good. I could of also spend more time at home going over the lines.

My peers monologues were very good as well. They had good movements and did a good job remembering there lines. Everyone did a good job and was prepared well. Victoria's project was good and she really acted like a 6 year old girl which was great. I really liked how Jake paced back and forth. He could of done a better job with the pirate voice and being more angry. G's monolgue was great. I thought she nailed everything and the ending was better than what I expected from watching her act in class before today. I think yesterday really helped her. My monolgue was good. I thought I could done a better job if I prepared myself at home for often.

In Class Blog

I plan to add more emotion into my blog. It feels kind of dull to me as of right now. I need to work on memorizing my lines better, and not looking at the ground while I act. I think that I should have a couple of actors ambush me in the beginning of this monologue to really sell the scene and emotion that goes along with it.  My monologue looks good as of now and can really be special if I put the work into it.  I look forward to improving and making my monologue better.

Peer Respones

Comment on the following things:

1. what was done well and what you liked
2. the volume of the voice and how well it was projected
3. the tempo of the monologue and if it needs to be slower or faster at any point
4. the emotional expression
5. the body language and blocking
6. the facial expression
7. the emotional build or change
8. creating of a distinct character
9. staying in character
10. overall what actor needs to work on

Victoria: really is  very good  with her monologue. She does a great job memorizing her lines and acting as a little kid. I believe she can be a little more excited and act more childish but otherwise she is very good

Jake: he does a very good job playing a character as a pirate. I would like to see more pirate vocabulary though.  Otherwise she does a very good job and is very skilled actor.

G:   She is very comfortable with her monologue. I think it was very good I think the jump set would be a good job though in acting. She needs to get more frantic and scared at the end when she's about to hit the bottom of the hole

Rough Monologue

What I saw from my rough draft monologue was good potential to become a great monologue. I think  once I master the lines it will be a lot better.  I need to be more confrontable and become better at expressing emotions becuase right now I feel my monologue is kind of bland.

Blog 2 Awesome Acting Class

I have had a good time in acting class so far.  I like it a lot. I took this class last year and had a great time doing it.  Acting has been good to me so far. The teacher is great we as a class have a great time. Even though there are only four of us we click very well and no one has any problems with anybody.

The easiest thing for me in acting class so far has been abilty to act. I feel I am one of the more experienced in the class. This is different from last year because last year I was in the same position as the new students are in. I feel as if the other students look up to me for acting knowledge. It has been easy for me to be more outgoing and more comfortable in front of the camera or teacher/ audience. I feel like this class  has been easy for me because I took it last year.

The hardest thing for me in acting so far has been adjusting to the small class. Last year I like the kids a lot in the class but sadly no one decided to retake the class, leaving me stranded. My class last year was very fun and I was looking forward  building on our relationships as friends in the acting class. This did not happen. It was disappointing to me.   Many students this year decided to drop the class before even giving it a chance. I was disappointed they did not do this, but I understood where they were coming from.  It was discouraging.

I like projects that involve more in-depth scenes where to characters or more are playing a role that could be in a movie or TV show.  I want to do more of this because it will help me become a better actor because this is something I want to do with my life. I like last year's projects because I thought a prepared me well I am hoping to build on that and become a better actor so I can one day  become a actor.

Something I want to and need to work on for  the rest of this class year  is to be more comfortable with myself on stage and just become a better actor in general. I know and  feel I have a lot of  potential to become a great actor one day. I just need to get more experience and hopefully they discovered one day as an actor .
